A superbly ethereal and spectral work of music. The mind's-eye picture of a biting, blustering wind out on the rocky plains under a steely overcast sky, standing before the amaranthine flame burning from the ground. There is an aching sense of mysterious desolation that made me think of Dawnbringer, my favorite achiever of that sound. I especially loved how the guitars are expertly produced into a pleasingly textured wash, almost like the notes of the chords are bubbles popping from the mud.
Favorite track: Grief Ascension (Amaranthine Flame).
